So many things happened over the past couple of days. I kept thinking "I have to remember to put that in the blog" but now I forget a lot of it.
Jeb is strating to talk and sing a lot now. His favorite songs are "Head and Shoulders knees and toes", "If you're Happy and You Know It", and "Old McDonald". His words are "Dada", "Dog", and "Ball"
He now knows he is not allowed to go into certain places like the laundry room. If he sees the door is opened he will go over to the door, close it and then look at me and shake his head "No".
One funny thing is that if you want him to understand you, you have to speak Spanish to him. He hardly understands English but the only words that he says are in English. Janet says that she heard him say "Bravo" yesterday but he has not repeated it. Its possible because whenever he does something we always clap for him and say "BRAVO!".

The Good and The Bad
It is truely amazing to see a one year olds mind at work. Yesterdy afternoon Jeb and I were reading a book about Tommy the dog. on one of the pages there is a picture of Tommy playing with a ball. Jeb points to the picture and says dog which he has done on every page since there is a picture of Tommy on every page. Then the cool part comes. He looks at the page, then he looks at Muneca (his dog) then he gets up goes across the room gets his ball and takes it over to Muneca. It seems like a small thing but when you consider how much thought actually goes into somethng like that, it is pretty cool.
That was the exciting part of yesterday. The so nice part was a little latter in the afternoon when Jeb tripped over my dumbbells that were sitting on the tile floor. He is always tripping over something. Sometimes he cries and sometimes he does not. My reaction is usually just to take him away from the area where he fell and give him something else to do to make him forget about the fall. That is what I did yesterday. I picked up some toys and set him on my bed to play. "You're ok Bubu" is what I am telling him. Janet (Jebs mom) walked over a second later to notice that he has a mouth full of blood. OK? yes Maybe needs a little bit of attention? yes. We got him an ice cube ina damp towel to suck on and the bleeding stopped very quickly. Just another bump on the road to becoming a man.
We went on our bike ride last night and Jeb fell asleep almost as soon as we started. He looks very cute sitting on the back of the bike, eyes closed with helmet cocked to the side.

Interesting thing about female dogs
They have lots of nipples and they are interesting to pull on. Jebs newest discovery is that Muneca has many nipples. He sits beside her and pulls on them one at a time.
Another fun new discovery is that the chupito (pacifier) comes loose from the ribbon. Several times over the past 2 days we have found Jeb with the ribbon clasped to his shirt, but no chupito attached to the ribbon. Yesterday it happened during our walk. We found that chupito during our bike ride but we lost the one that we started the bike ride with.

Morning Walk
Yesterday morning Jeb and i got up and walked to the outlet mall (about 2 miles) We got there before the stores opened up so we sat on a bench and ate breatfast. Mommy got there a little later in her car and we went to Starbucks for her coffee. Eventually the stores opened and I bought running gear (I am going to do a 5k run in May). Then we walked to the market and bought some fresh vegetables. After all that walking we jumped in mommys car to go home.
Jeb and I got up this morning and went on a walk. We usually walk in the afternoon about 2.5 miles but today I wanted to walk twice so we did one in the morning. HOW FUN! We saw cows and one of them even talked to us. We saw lots of bunnies. They stopped and let us look at them while they ate there breakfast. We saw lots of birds and we tweeted at them and they tweeted back. I wish we had time to go on morning walks everyday.
Some of guys new things are:
Singing "is your happy and you know it" and doing the motions
Doing the motions to "Head and Shoulders"
Shaking his head yes and no
Talking in the new excited voice

Tuesday
We did a lot of exercising today. After Jebs nap and snack we went for a long walk. It was a little cool and breezy but it was nice. We saw a hawk fly right over our head and Jeb was very excited!
One of Jebs new favorite things to do is destroy stuff, so we spent some time in the evening Mommy and me building stuff out of blocks and Jeb knocking them over. He doesn't just knock them over he makes sure there is not one block left standing.
When we were getting to go on our bike ride last night, Janet was putting her shoes on and Jeb wanted to help. He picked up one of my shoes and carried it over to her and tried to put it on her foot. Very cute.

MONDAY!
Jebs normal nap time is from 1pm - 3pm. This works well because I get home from work around 2pm and I have an hour to get things done or relax. Today was a different story. I walked in the door and there was Jeb ready to play. Don't get me wrong I love the play time its just that Monday afternoon I usually have a lot of things to get done. Fortunatley he was in a great mood and did a lot of playing on his own. One of his new favorite things to do is play with the Wii Fit. He has watched me weigh myself several times lately so as most 1 yr olds he imitates me. He stands on the balance board holding the remote and pointing it toward the TV. The TV does not need to be turned on. He stands there for a few seconds looking at the TV and then suddenly raises his arms above his head in victory over the scale. Its pretty cool to see just how much attention he pays to what I do. He sees the details. It is also kind of scary to know that he probably sees every not so nice look that I make at others.

Polo!
How exciting is it for a 1 yr old to stand on the sidelines as polo ponies race by? How exciting is it to ride in a wagon being pulled by 6 Clydesdale horses? Not really that exciting. Running in the grass and pointing at the birds in the sky is much more fun.
We had a fun time at the polo mathc yesterday. We grilled Colombian style hotdogs and enjoyed the company of our friends. Several of our friends have babies Jebs age or younger so they were able to socialize a little.
The coolest part of the day was getting to pet one of the Clydesdales on the nose. Awsome!
